Maybe I'm wrong but I really feel that I have arrived at a place that I will be at for a long time. The Devore, Shindo, Well Tempered, EMT system works so well together. I have just put in new from Shindo NOS EL34 (philips dynawatt) tubes into the Montrachet.
Last things to get are to find Shindo Silver IC between TT and phono, and between Phono and Auriges.
System edited: I think I'm serious this time, no more changes. Switched out Auriges for Monbrison and added Auditorium A23 SUT to feed MM on Monbrison.
What do you use to clean your vinyl? Also, from the pictures in your system thread, I'm going to bet your room tends to the "live" side. An ultrasonic cleaner and a few movable acoustical panels would go a long way.
System edited: Excited to get a good 35W Shindo amp and the auriges pre-amp into the system. I had tried a Shindo apetite and liked the sound but it didn't have enough power. The Montrachet seems to have plenty so far.
I have a Avatar Super SE and I was wondering how well you like this combination with the DeVores Silverbacks? What do you like about them? What are their short comings. What music do you listen to most often? Did you find some comparable cables you prefer, etc? I would appreciate yearning from you and what your experiences have been. It is hard to describe what I like so much about the Shindo I have. I would say that it is "relativity", all of the instruments seem to relate to each other perfectly well even if the the kick bass might not be deep enough due to the low power of my 15w integrated, the relation of the kick bass with the other drum beats, etc. just comes across perfectly. You get a deeper sense of the music.
Nice system. I have listened to both VAC and Shindo and prefer VAC. It is more transparent and neutral. Faster transients. Shindo has great flowvand decay. Disclosure- i own vac amp and preamp.
