Hi Jond,

I e-mailed you separately so I could be candid regarding the competing phono stages available. But here let me add that the Jarrah is quite liquid sounding, and I think it would work well with your Cary tube gear. The Jarrah lacks solid state harshness -- that's pretty much true for Plinius products generally.

Best regards,
Paul

Paul,
Give me your impressions of the Plinius Jarrah. As soon as I can afford to I'm going to be looking for a good outboard phonostage under $1K so the Plinius is certainly a contender. What have you compared it to and what are its' strengths and weaknesses? Thanks!

Hi Thinkat,

Let me put it this way: I have a friend with one of VPI's more expensive models, all tricked out with VPI's gizmos, including the SDS controller. He was flabergasted at the sound of this modified Denon. Give me a call and I'll walk you through the mods -- they make a HUGE difference. (302) 836-0453.

Best regards,
Paul
