Description

This is my work office system. I am in the back corner. The speakers point away from the door, so I can play it at a moderate level without bothering people. Everything was bought used. Cost around $1000 total. The Creek came from Charlie the Vet. I have an extra cassette deck at home with HX-Pro I could add. How about a turntable??

Thanks Ken, I will check it out. There are usually old remotes on eBay.

For those unfamiliar with the Onkyo "Integra" audio receivers, since they stopped making them, and now only make HT receivers; they have a nice FM section like the Integra separate tuners. The TX-870 dates from the same year as the Integra T-4700 tuner right after the T-9090II. The amplifier section has a huge power supply. I think the receiver weighs 35lbs+. It is rated at 105 watts/8 ohms per channel and will drive all the way down to 315 watts / 2 ohms. It has a CD Direct button which bypasses the tone controls. There was also a TX-890 Integra that was 120 watts/8 ohms from the same period. Earlier Integra receivers were the TX-65 and TX-88 that date from the mid to late 1980s.

A reviewer in Audio Asylum compared the TX-870 with the NAD C350 and thought could not tell them apart. The NAD and Rotel receivers also are a great value if you want an all-in-one receiver when space is an issue.

Sugarbrie... If you own a programable remote, remotecentral.com may have the codes to program a learning remote to do what you want.
