Decent portable CD player, no line out, though.
OK, so it's not really a _tuner_, but in this context...
The Total Bithead is a combination headphone amp and computer sound card that is getting a lot of positive attention in the audiophile press lately. I've had mine for about a year now; my experience has been very positive. Not only does it add a lot of tonal richness to my headphones, but the sound card kills the one in my corporate-issue laptop.
- Bright Star Audio Small IsoNode feet
My only real complaints about the Total BitHead is that a) the footers are cheap, hard plastirubber junk and b) there are only 3 of them, with the single in front. Since the unit is pretty small and lightweight (even with batteries installed), this makes it tend to tip over and/or wobble/slide when adjusting the controls or even just from the weight of the headphone cable. So, I solved this problem by attaching 4 IsoNode feet, with the unexpected benefit that bass response improved dramatically.
Very nice folding headphone, a little pricey, but very lifelike.
A 1x2 inch strip on the bottom of the BitHead to chase that nasty RF.
The connectors on the headphone end of the Silver Dragon and the plug on the NRG-1 are treated with this and Mapleshade SilClear (in that order).
1/8" stereo mini to 1/8" stereo mini plug, 12" long. Sonically superior in every way to the cable bundled w/the Bithead, but a bit less flexible.
