Description

This is the system I have been working towards for the past 10 years. It does everything I could possibly want from a system. It is absolutely sweet w/music and it just rocks the movies. I just want to have everyone over so i can show it off. The combo of Plinius, for l&r fronts, and Aragon, for ctr and rears, matches up very well sonically and presents a very authoritative soundstage. The Krell HTS, IMHO, is the best pro/pre going. It does music and movies w/equal success. The video combo of Mitsu and Pioneer Elite are not far behind in there formidability. The dvd is progressive scan and the RPTV is HD compatable at a reasonable price. And it does not take up that much space, which helps w/the wife acceptability factor. This system is my dream come true.

System edited: Hey all, It has peen a while since I updated the system and there have been a few changes. The amplifier, VK-6200, is the best amplifier I've ever heard. That's right, not ever owned, but ever heard. The TV, Panasonic TH-58PZ800U, is the best tv I researched that I could afford and I love it. The PS3 I've owned since it was released but I've only recently been using it as a Blue Ray player. I've heard people complain about the PS3 but I can't. It does the job well and it is also, imho, the best gaming system going. The speaker cables, Xindak FS-1, were quite a suprise. They out performed my $1100.00 Jena Labs Gamma 6's at $150.00, that is performance per dollar. I'm so happy with my system now, I cannot see any more changes for quite a while........John

Must be really nice, Vac tubes driving VSA speakers. Happy listening. Glen

System edited: Hey Y'all, I've finished the five channels of amplification with three VAC Auricle Musicblocks. They are not as powerful, 70 watts, but they really make the surround soundfield come together seamlessly and they seem more then able to handle the rigors of my HT system.......John

System edited: Hey Y'all, I've switched to tubes and it's the greatests single chaange I've ever made on my system. I also consolidated my CD/DVD players into one box and, I have to say, I have not lost anything on CD playback and I've gain tremendously on the DVD performance. There will be more changes soon. I have to put in the tube amps for the center and rear channels.........John

John,

Totally agree! You can have your cake and eat it too!

A good 2 channel system is a very good start for an awesome HT system.

Are you using the EQ on your Krell Showcase?

System edited: Hey Y'all, I've finally found a cable that has out performed my beloved Stan Warrens. The Jena Labs Trio line, not to expensive and man do they sound sweet. If you have not tried Jena Labs, find the type that you can afford and try them, you will not be let down and Jennifer, the owner and engineer of these fine cables, is a great person to boot. Nothing like getting to know the person making your equipment personally.........John

System edited: I've made some significant changes. For me, the two biggest changes were the Kell Shocase and the BPT 2.5 Ultra. I can finally hear what my CDP can do with the anolog pass through on the Krell. The BPT feeds my system the all the clean power it needs. I'm very happy where I am with my system now. I'm doing some tweeking, stands and isolation and such, otherwise, I'm just enjoying the sounds.......John

System edited: I've changed a few things in the last 6 mnths, that's tha nature of this hobby. The speakers were changed after a 2 1/2 hr A/B comparo. The Dynaudio 3.0's just smoked the Revels. I also changed the sub because the Rel is more musical and I have learned that if a system does music well it will do HT well also. The cable changes came about by accident. I will be having my DVD player modified by Stan Warren. I got to talking to him and he mentioned some very affordable but very high performance/quality IC's and spkr cables his daughter is making. For the price, w/a money back guarantee, I had nothing to lose. These cables perform!!! As for the power cords I have to thank Bill Parrish of GTT Audio. I went to his room at the show and the first thing he hands me is a coupon for The Absolute Power Cord. The price seemed rite so I took three. That was on Friday. On Sunday, I came back and took five more to complete the change on the entire system. I'm a very happy man.

Nice HT setup! Planning on posting your audio rig too? I'm curious to see how the systems differ
