I have 2 systems - the Audio and the Audio / HT Setup.
The Audio / HT Setup is currently where I do my more focused listening. I'm thrilled with my Martin Logan Electrostatic speakers. At the moment, these are the crown jewels in my setup.
A truth is that the ML's are not kind to bad source materials or poor quality head gear. This is something I've been working to correct over time.
I have recently added a new analog front end. This includes the VPI Aries 2 Black Knight TT with a Benz MC-2M cartridge.
Benz M2 Mid Cartridge - a wood bodied-beauty. Picture is from Distributor Musical Surrounding's website (of the L2) which is just a much better close-up picture than I can take.
Acoustech PH-1
The AcousTech PH-1 Stereophonic Phono Preamplifier - Collaboration between Ron Sutherland (of Sutherland Engineering -- maker of very expensive and beautiful looking high end amps and preamps) and Chad Kassem (proprietor of Acoustic Sounds, Bluelight studios and other high end ventures) has produced the AcousTech PH-1.
Denon DVD-2900
Universal DVD-V, DVD-A, SACD, CD player. I bought this unit before there were any reviews. I agree with most reviews that the DA conversion in the player is very weak (I'm being kind.) Fortunately for CD's the DACs in the DSP-A1 are quite good and I'm not unhappy. I've been toying with the idea of having this unit mod'ed.
Pioneer DVL-700
LD / DVD player. I use this with a lot of Music LD's. Does the job well!
Yamaha DSP-A1
First of the Yamaha integrated amps that supported DD / DTS, etc. Use as a pre at this point.
Tosibha TW65H80
My HDTV - ISF Certified. Highly tweeked. This is a 1999 model. It sitll provides a great picture (see the attached picture.)

System edited: I've added a new analog front end to my system. This has turned out to be a wonderful change. the VPI Aries2, BM M2 and Acoustech PH-1 are performing wonderfully.
Buy everything as if for music and just "overkill" the speaker and amp for dynamics. I disagree with the proponentof needing different set-ups. I agree if ML expose weakness, fix the source, don't hide it.
