Who knew this little system would sound so good 30 years ago? I have not had a bit of trouble with any of this equipment, all of it bought used from this forum five to ten years ago. The system sounds decent, though it could use more bass. Its clean and the sound is clear with good soundstaging-especially the vocals.
Works fine for a 40 year old pre-amp. It was blowing the Bedini's fuse until we realized that it initially surges high. So now it has a written reminder on the front.
Kef 103-2
Scratch and dent, but these sound fine with good midrange. I can hear lyrics I never could with my other systems.
Bedini Electronics 25.25
Thirty years old and still working fine
Rega Planet
Used to have one of their turntables which was amazing. This sounds good and is easy to load.
Sirius SR-H550
Very light-connected to roof antennae
Audioquest Type 6 Spread Spectrum Hyperlitz
Thick grey cables
Synergistic Research Alpha Cable
Large gold ends with white cables showing direction of signal. These are quite well made.
Tripp Lite Line Conditioner LC 1200
With voltage in this area from 118 to 145 while the multimeter is plugged in for 30 seconds, this has eliminated any pops and clicks. I read here that many would not use this for audio, but it seems to work well.
System edited: This was my budget system 8 years ago. I asked an expert to pick out pieces and he used this forum for most of the equipment. I have never had any problems with any of it.
