Description

This is my main system, which I've built up over a period of about 4 years. I've recently converted to the two-channel setup and have never been happier. I find it more enjoyable to have a great two-channel than a mediocre surround setup.

    • B&K Reference 20
I bought this when I was into the whole 5.1 setup. Now that I've gone to a two-channel, I've debated going to an integrated, but it's hard to get rid of.
    • Panamax Max 1000+
Got rid of the thump from my aquarium light...enough said!
    • Rotel RB-980BX
Great amp, but I'll probably be upgrading to a Bryston before too long.
    • Tara Labs RSX Axiom
I needed longer interconnects between my processor and amplifier, so the Air 3's were a little out of my price range. Maybe one day, but these do just fine for right now.
    • Tara Labs Air 3
Great interconnects between my Denon SACD/CD/DVD player and B&K Ref 20. Since SACD only uses analogue, it was important to me to have some of the best around (in my price range!)
    • Tara Labs Air Digital 75
This is a great interconnect for digital transport. Although SACD signals won't travel via a digital cable, it's still nice for when you listed to CD's or watch DVD's.
    • Tara Labs Helix 8 Bi-Wire
When I bought my Totem Acoustic speakers, I was forced to change speaker cables to a bi-wire setup. Figured I'd keep with the Tara Labs theme. Sound very similar to my old Harmonic Technology Pro-12.
    • Denon DVD-1920
Great entry-level universal disc player. I'm now hooked on the SACD format and find myself listening to any and all types of music found on it.
    • Totem Acoustics Sttaf
Finally, I get an audiophile-quality speaker to go with everything else. Newer version of the Sttaf (blue dot above the tweeter, as opposed to on either side of it) that sounds great and has the factory-upgraded claws. These support the speaker on just three ball-bearings, reducing vibrations.

I'm looking to find what people think is the weakest link in the system as is. I can't decide what to change/upgrade next. I've been debating going to an integrated amplifier and getting rid of the B&K and Rotel. Another option would be to send the B&K off to get upgraded to a Reference 21 ($1000). I'm not that familiar with their upgrades, so I'm not sure if it's worth it. I've also debated upgrading the Denon 1920 to a Denon 2910, which I hear is far superior. Please, any advice is welcome.

Just developed a new problem, my GFA-2535 keeps blowing the internal fuses when I try to run my center off the B channel bridged (200x1)...any suggestions or answers to why it would do this? Works fine in stereo, but blows everytime I try to bridge it.

Not to shabby, I'm in the same situation as you are, being a student on a budget. I am a grad student though, so I've had about 6 years of amassing equiptment. Check out my system if you want. Let me know if you are looking for any kind of recammendations or advice
