    • Sony 3200F
Had Leak tl12+'s, and triode monoblocks made by a freind, but the Sony has eclipsed them significantly with my Quads and now great with Lowthers!
    • Lowther DX2 and PM6C in classic400 horn
ok, different from my Quads, which had to go to purchase my new home, and wouldnt fit in living room. the BLH lowthers are rather good though, even by Quad standards, and do the same dipole crazy imaging thing when out in the room
    • Goldring Lenco GL75
With heavy home made plinth I had to sell my Garrard 401, cos i prefered this one. Goldring Studio Selection Cones as feet upped the resolution, especially in the bass
    • Grado Platinum mm
Nice cart. just ordered a Denon DL103r, so watch this space
    • Rega RB300 with TWL mod
with cardas wire and twl's mod it matches my origion Live Silver, so i sold the silver.
    • Sansui TU-710
Simply wonderful. my best source on radio 3 in the evenings. Astounding
    • Sony TA-4650 used as pre only
with the sony power amp its dynamite. even the phono stage is rather good
    • Petra music boys
Thanks to Jean Antais, as always for this cheap upgrade. Sometimes add a solid silver interconnect for a bit of zip
    • Denon DL-103r
Stunning. Feels more complete than the DL-103

Thanks, Restock. Am running Carver stepup. Sounds good, but its the only one i've tried. something for the future. I sold the Ear834P because my Phy is slightly less dynamic, but has more organic musicality in my system, and the music sings to me more.

Nice system, in particular the analog set up. Just curious - what step up are you using with your Denon 103R and Fi Yph? I am getting a Fi Y and X soon and I am tempted to get the Yph phono stage. Also, I am running the 103R as well, just on not as classic of table :).

Best wishes,

Rene

Hi Martin. Yes they are! I'm in a 12'x12' room at the moment, where they shouldnt work, and have them a foot from the rear wall. They are working great. I dont know why. Of course, in a larger room with more room to breath (a third of room length is considered right, though for me I've always had to experiment) they sound even better, but they are still sensational. I still have a Quad 306 (sold my 34) and I think it is totally underestimated. I took my 306/34 to a a dealer who was selling me some gradient speakers a few years ago, and his best pre power at $3,000 new was not in the same league as the 306/34. There are mods you can do to the 306, I'm told. I found the Leak Stereo 20, then the Leak TL12+ monoblocks, then my present SET's all to be more musical and better generally than the 306, but not by that much! Re the Lenco, putting another arm on it is well worth it. If you're feeling brave, the "building high end tt's at home despot" thread is all about the Lenco, and the main instigator of that thread, Johnnantais is very open to all Lenco users. Re the feet you could well be right. They did make a big diference, and look way cool. I've often wondered what those missions are like, as they have been liked by the press

I too use a GL75, completely as was, good things always last well and this still sounds wonderfull. your plinth looks great, but i wonder if the feet only help because of the speakers proximity (acoustic unwanted coupling?) But arent they gorgeous speakers, always envied a pair, never able to aford them, but I managed a 36/304 amp set and had to make do with a pair of mission 782's. It do sound good though. Clue me in, but arn't electrostatics suposed to have plenty of room behind 'em?

Nice kit dude

regards

Martin
