Description

Pleased with the sound I'm getting now considering the room isn't ideal. Plan is to work on the room treatments on the cheap (read DIY). Would like to keep moving forward with my analog front end as long as I'm hearing marked improvement! I definitely feel the Basis is a keeper.

System edited: Picked up a Revox B-215 which has been lots of fun and added a Midas bodied Denon Dl-103R as a back up, but I've been piling up the hours pretty good on it!

Beautiful symmetry of components, layout, and design. The Basis is a lovely machine that will hopefully bring you a lifetime of enjoyment!!! My wife and I have a Basis Ovation. Congrats!

The RSAD Alethius power cords are very good IMO
These are the Cu version which is full copper
At this time i'm not using RSAD IC or speaker cables
Would like to down the road when funds permit

Hi Musicfile, I'm in Ontario, a couple of hours northwest of London. Thanks for the compliment on my system. I noticed in your system that you are using the RSA Alethias cables, how do you like those? Are they the silver or copper version, and are you using IC's or the speaker cables or both?

Hello Jfrech, I'm using the rca inputs on the Bat. Will try a balanced phono cable eventually, I'm using the Bat adapters to single ended out since my pre is single ended only. The changes from the ref3 to the dyna was pretty drastic. The spacial cues, noise floor, extension, basically everything improved.

So what differences did you hear on the cartridge swap? Did you have to use the step up transformers in your VK P10?

Upgrading from a P10 to a P10SE is a big deal, I did it a few years ago and then to the superpak, another good step up.

Also, are you using the XLR inputs or the rca inputs on your phono stage?

I bet it's a great sounding set up !
