Description

This is my Analog System. This supplies the photos which complement my Thread on my Teres Turntable/Soundsmith Strain Gauge thread (http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr_memb.pl?&&listthrd&zzNaturephoto1). The system consists of the 3rd ever produced Teres Audio Certus 450 Turntable, 1st production run Teres Audio Illius Tonearm, Soundsmith Strain Gauge Cartridge, Soundsmith Strain Gauge 410 Phono Preamp, Teres Audio Certus Control Box, and Soundsmith Strain Gauge Phono Preamp Power Box.

The remainder of my system consists of 4 heavily modified Aragon Palladium 1K monoblock amp; a heavily modified Krell KAV-250a/3 amp; a heavily modified Onkyo PR-SC885 Pre/Pro amp; a heavily modified Denon DVD 5910 DVD/CD Player; a heavily modified Lavry DA 10 DAC; a heavily modified Denon DVD 3800 BDCI Blu-ray player; a heavily modified Sansui TU-9900 tuner; a heavily modified Exact Power EP15A power unit; an Isotek Sigmas Power unit; totally rebuilt and gutted Dahlquist DQ-10 speakers with Dynaudio and Peerless Drivers and Proprietary woofer, etc.; a Nola LCR Reference center channel speaker; a pair of Dalquist DQ-6CI Bookshelf speakers; and an Epik Counquest Subwoofer. Photos of the rest of the system will have to wait till I move to my new home, hopefully later this year when I have installed a listening room/home theater that affords enough space for the equipment and the photographs.

    • Teres Audio Certus 450
This is the 3rd Certus 450 Turntable to be made. The platter is a lead shot loaded phenolic platter inside a cocobolo wood outer platter. The wood contributes to the sound of the turntable. The Marigo Labs TR Mystery Feet are now included as part of the turntable and included in the new Retail Price.
    • Spoundsmith Strain Gauge
This is the Soundsmith Strain Gauge Cartridge that must be purchased with and used with the Soundsmith Strain Gauge Phono Preamps; my Phono Preamp is the model 410. The paired price of these components along with extra features and Rosewood cabinet price listed. Additionally, I purchased a separate top of the line stylus which brings the actual total cost to $9,300.
    • Teres Audio Illius Tonearm
This is the first Teres Audio Illius Tonearm in production. This is a beautifully finished cocobolo wood and made 2 section tonearm. The stain matches the color of the turntable and it tracks exceedingly well. It is a dream to use with the Teres Certus 450 Turntable and the Strain Gauge Cartridge. Tremendous amounts of well controlled bass can be supplied along with wonderful detail, soundstage, and imaging can be heard with this combination of components.
    • Spoundsmith Strain Gauge 410 Phono Preamp
This is the Soundsmith Strain Gauge 410 Phono Preamp that is and must be used with the Soundsmith Strain Gauge Cartridge. The price of this with the Soundsmith Strain Gauge Cartridge along with the extra features and the Rosewood finish was $8800 as listed with the Soundsmith Strain Gauge Cartridge. The photo also shows part of the Soundsmith Strain Gauge Power Box as well as the Teres Audio Certus Control Box.
    • Marigo Labs TR Mystery Feet
These are the Marigo Labs Mystery Feet that have been placed under the Teres Audio Certus Control Box. You can see them under the Certus Control Box which is sitting above the Soundsmith Strain Gauge 410 Phono Preamp. The new list price of the Teres Certus 450 now includes these feet. However, if purchased separately, the retail price is as listed.
    • Adona Corporation Black 3 Tier AV45G
This is the all black Adona 3 Tier AV45G rack. Each platform is made of a sandwich of granite/mdf and each platform is isolated in the rack. My rack has 2 oversized platforms that are 19" X 24" to accommodate the Teres Certus 450 on the top level and the the Soundsmith Strain Gauge 410 Preamp Power Box and the Teres Certus Control Box on the 2nd level.

Hi,

I saw on Audiogon that you have four heavily modified Aragon Palladium mono bloc amps. As an owner of a recording studio in New York City, I have four Palladiums and three 8008BB dual mono bloc amps. I was curious, where did you get the Palladiums worked on? Are they an Aragon specialist? Were you happy with their work?

Thanks for your help, Scott

I've not heard many soundsmith's except for on VPI's and they have been very impressive. I've not heard the strain gauge but it is curious. I'll check back...
