Description

True to the title my system is on the third floor attic. The room is 15 feet wide by 27 feet long and the cathedral ceiling highest point is 114 inches in the middle of the room,it lowers down to 96 inches to the sides.I am happy with the sound. The area gets a little warm in the summer months especially when the tube gear is on for too long.Pictures soon to be added ,when I figure out how to do it.I would like to experiment with different tubes for the pre-amp and see what that does to the system.I was told that the system lacks deep bass and that makes me wonder if I should get a seperate Aerial subwoofer or try bigger solid state amps.Another option is to get a second ML 27,5 to bi-amp with my existing.

You got amazing equipment.
Whats your favorite dac out of all the Dacs you have?

doug99

When are you going to post photos? With so much gear it would be nice to see photos of your collection to sort it all out in my mind. Thanks

I got a Squeezebox Duet about two months ago.I find it difficult to set up and run, minor issues and the fact that I am not that strong with computers and networking made me look into Sonos.I started with a ZP90 and Bridge.Very nice and easy to use system. So far I got two used CR100 controllers, one new CR200 controller, two ZP90,one ZoneBridge,S5 and Sonos iPod dock.I put the Duet away and probably will sell it.
Sonos is one of my latest good investments. Also picked up a pair of Quad 9L actives for the Mac mini, very good overall sound in a small package, excellent desktop speakers.

System edited: Just added a legacy Theta Casablanca 2 processor with superior dac's for R,C,L and standard dac's for rear channels. The sound is very good but set-up can be tricky,I need to study the Casablanca manual. The connections are with Audioquest XLR interconnects into a Proceed Amp-5 in balanced mode.

Hi Zephyr
Thanks for stopping by.
Good question, for digital I must say I prefer the Levinson combo,it just seems to extract more information out of the cd's,but I do love them all.I haven't had a chance to listen to the Norhstar M192 dac because it is a 220 unit that I bought from a gentleman in Singapore.I just need a quality voltage converter.I am a gearhead by nature and I tend to hold on to the equipment even if some of them don't get play time as often. My favorite music is classic rock a little pop 80's but I also listen to older ethnic Greek tunes, songs that touched my soul while growing up.
In regards to adding pics,I will contact you privately for help.

George

That is an impressive list of listening options in various combinations you've put together. What is your favorite combination of transport, DAC, pre-amp, amp and speaker or does it vary by the type of music you intend to listen to? If you want help on how to post pictures, write me an email and I'll be glad to help.
