Replaced the Naim with an Eosteric cd/sacd player.

I find the Esoteric to be more in step with the SME gear.

It doesn't sound as digital as the last player did.

The Audio Aero was smooth, the Naim was less smooth, more detailed,the Esoteric like Goldilocks said is just right.

Very happy with the last changes to my system.

I've changed the speakers/amps,the vinyl and digital front ends in the last two months.

I don't feel the need to do anything else at the moment but listen to the music.

All is as it should be.

I now use a Naim CDX2-2 cd player and I am enjoying it.

Next up maybe the XPS2, or Naim Dac or both.

I do believe I've been bitten by the naim bug.

Well ,two days before my birthday I bought another pair of speakers.

This time they came with amps,nice OTL servo amps to power them.

I am now the happy owner of a pair of rebuilt Acoustat X speakers.

I have friends who never parted with their original Acoustats and always told me to buy the next pair of servos that came around.

Thirty five years later I finally got wise.
But better late than never.

So the DecWare and the Grand Veenas stay in the small room.

Me and the Acoustats are back in the big room.

Time to post an update.

Here's how the system stands today starting at the speakers.

Single 2 m run of Nordost Heimdal, into Nordost jumpers in the diagonal config.

Amp- Decware's 2 watt wonder Zen Select-EL 84 SET, yes two watts is all I need.

Pre/Phono- Manley Steelhead

Nordost Heimdal interconnects all around

Power cords- 3 Shunyata Annaconda Helix, 1 Python CX, 2 Blue Circle modded.

Power-Hydra 8, Hydra 2, Hydra Guardian 2

Hifi Supreme fuses, 3 dedicated lines, 30 amp breakers,less than 10 feet of Romex solid core for each dedicated line.

Rega P9 with Exact 2 cart

Grand Prix audio Rack

ASC tube traps and DIY room tuning

I am quite plesed with how the system has evolved.

However the more I do to improve the power and correct the room's influence the better the system sounds,so not any component upgrades planned.

Hi Lacee, I bet your system really is a pleasure to listen to. I too use an Eclipse preamp in my system, I was wondering if you replaced the stock 12AU7's and if you did what tubes do you use? It's a great preamp to begin with, and with the right NOS tubes it just gets that much better sonicly. I'm using Mullard long plates with
