Description

Why go with desktop speakers? These floor standing speakers are tiny, very efficient and sound unbelievable. Great bass down to 45hz from a 4" full range driver. Very smooth mids, nice highs (a little mellow). Since it's my office, I went with all of my music on Phantom Green 1TB HD running through a nice Musiland MD-10 DAC. The Music Hall Trio works perfectly with this.

    • Music Hall Trio
CD/Pre/Tuner/Amp All in one unit. Modded by Chris Johnson @ Partsconnexion, then by headfi and finally by renaissance in wichita. Many of the parts are upgraded in the pre-amp section and cd section. The final upgrade was the most noticable, when the ribbon cables were removed and hardwired point to point.
    • Merrill Zigmahornets
Full range 4" drivers by Merrill. These are great along the wall on each side of my new 22" monitor! You won't believe the bass out of 4" drivers. The quarter wave design is amazing. Mids of course are exemplary with single driver configuration. The highs could use a touch more sparkle but considering that I can listen to these 40 hours a week, too much highs would get fatiguing.
    • Musiland MD-10
USB DAC to connect my brand new Compaq quad core processor with an external phantom 1tb hard drive to my MH Trio.
    • Zip cord WalMart
Yep, Zigmahornets are hard wired essentially with cut up orange extension cords. Works great too.
    • Fantom Green drive
1TB of lossless music. I stream a lot but when the office is quiet, I have to go with one of several hundred cd's at my fingertips.
    • Masterwork Tube Amp made by Pilot
15 wpc vintage tube amp using 6BM8 triode tubes. Amazing sound that I never get fatigued from. Considering that this system can be on 30-40 hours a week that says a lot.
