Yes, the stands were partially made by me. I didn't want to spend long green on right sized stands so I worked off a pre existing pair. They do the job.
I'm currently under taking a new project table and should be finished with it soon. It is another 150 modded and tricked out but this one will have a solid hardwood plinth and long base to accommodate longer tone arms. It will use carbon fiber in many places, be strategically damped, utilize an origin live advance motor, Grace 940 arm and NOS Adcom cartridge. It should be a really great table when I'm done and open up many more arm possibilities.
Looks great Raymonda glad and is that 3 turntables? All Thorens? They look amazing and I love all your mods the carbon fiber in particular looks great. The Micro's look sharp too did you make those stands yourself?
Excellent! I did the same recently. Got a new preamp, new phono stage, new amp, put over 4 grand into the turntable, and rewired it all with Synergistic Research. Just like you, it's like the bands have finally arrived to the room! I've been playing so much vinyl I had to purchase some more cleaning fluid yesterday. Fun, or what?! Enjoy your new system!
System edited: A lot of things have changed over the past 3 months, with table, pre-amp and amp being the biggest. I have really pushed things forward in the organic direction. When I sit back and spin vinyl or work on or listen to my mixes I'm really getting that "there" sense of sound. Comments and thought are appreciated.
Updated page. I will add pictures later. The m120 put a bit more flesh 96 the bone and come across as more organic. The new table with technoarm and origin motor upgrade is a step further in the right direction. I will miss my 166....I put a lot of work into it.
The audible illusions m3a is great in so many way. At this time I'm happy with my overhaul. It was fun rebuilding my system. Btw the melos sha1 is a great headphone amp and line section.
Nice system Raymonda. Very well done - I'll bet it sounds excellent. I agree with you on the Classe ca 150. I just put my ca 200 back in my system after several years on the bench and had forgotten how good it sounds.
