Lucajames,
I can not really compare the Gavia to models from other competitors but I am very happy with it. It is a jewel to look at, and the new motor controller which was introduced some months ago made its sound even better.

Upgrade to the Transfiguration Proteus cartridge was a big leap in performance.

Yes, my Gavia does have the new motor controller. It is a great turntable and a gem to look at.

Nice system, your amps and preamp are very good. I've not heard the Rethym Saadhana's, but I imagine they are a good match for your 845 S amps.

I have the Modwright stand-alone phono stage, the SWP 9.0 SE, which I have upgraded the power supply on, it was supplied by Dan Wright, that made for a nice upgrade.

I'd love to have your tonearm, a friend has one that has a Dynavector XV1-S cartridge mounted on a Transrotor Fat Bob. This combination is as good as anything I've heard, you might condsider trying the XV1-S, it makes a great combination with the TriPlaner.

Nicely done, enjoy,
Dan

Looks like a very nice system! As a fellow Galibier owner, I certainly approve of your choice in tables. How long have you been using yours? Did yours come with the new motor/controller?
