Description

I have been into 2 channel audio since the'70's. I bought the micro seiki new in the 80's and still use it today. it sits amongst some great tables and it still is a great contender.

I built the speaker towers from pro jbl drivers.

I enjoy feeling the music, so I needed a few woofers to do that.

anthony, i wouldn't say that the triplanar has a sonic signature. it will react differently to whatever cartridge you install.

@corby thank you for your response. I’ve been wanting a Triplanar for over ten years, finally found a MKVII U2 locally, I’m now waiting for an arm board adapter before I can mount it. Do you feel the Triplanar have a sonic signature? Anthony

scar972, the triplanar works well with a Phasemation PP1000. i've had it like that for years. i have a number of 4points. i have never experienced another arm that is so easy to set up and any adjustment is 100% repeatable. incredible fit and absolute control over adjustments. the triplanar, reed and acoustical systems all have the same adjustability, but all are very sloppy and not repeatable.
i must say, the pics are old and need updating. more current pics are on my website www.corbysaudio.com.
i will have to update my virtual system here real soon.

@corby what a great system!
Can you share your experiences with the Triplanar 12” and the Kuzma 4Point.

moved the system to a dedicated sound room 28x28 upstairs in my barn.
soundstage is huge now. the room is dead quiet with dedicated a/c and totally isolated ground.
(beer fridge is on another circuit in the next room!)

System edited: march 2010. i rebuilt my crossovers and included dueland resistors. the improvement was very noticeable. i have great midrange decay and rock solid tight bass now.

Great System. I also have a Micro Seiki RX-1500 (just bought it). Mine is with a gun metal platter and SME 3009, the R version. I have not set it up yet and will initially try the Denon 103R cartidge. I am curious to know how you feel about your Benz Micro Ebony.

i had the spikes custom made by larry at ttweights. he has since added them to his product line specifically for the ddx. the pic on his website is actually my ttbl. here's a link.

these spikes are a serious improvement to the table's performance. it changes the table from sprung to rigid, which works for me. the performance of the ddx rivals my rx1500 now. i highly recommend the upgrade.

corby

Corby,

Where did you find those spikes for the ddx-1000? I've been looking for a replacement idea and those look great. How do they attach?

Nice DDX, wish mine could be that nice!

System edited: august'09 i installed a breuer 8C to the rx1500 and moved the breuer 5C to the ddx1000.

i just installed an 8C onto the 1500. haven't spun it yet, later today is the plan. i am west of toronto. the max tonearm was just shipped to a buyer in california. i will be installing the 5C onto the ddx, just waiting for a new armboard to be machined.
i bought the 5C from alfred at tubeaudioproducts. he had never heard the arm and i don't think he knew it's reputation, otherwise i'm sure he would not have sold it. i know that i won't be selling it!
thanks for the response.
which schroeder did you have?

HI Corby

I would recommend the Breuer 8C over the Schroder. I had a Schroder for about three years.

I see you are selling your Seiki arm, and you are from Canada. Where are you located. I am near Windsor ON.

WHere did you find your Breuer Type 5.
