Description

As with my previous system, I strive for the best sound for the least cash outlay. I have had much enjoyment in putting together this system. I was able to have analogue and digital front ends and clearly the sound is top notch. That is to say, true to the music. Especially fine for Jazz, blues and classical which are my preferences. The AES Preamp is as good a linestage as I've had in my system and the 6SN7 tubes are startling in their musical presentation. With all the hoopla in phono stages, this tried and musically true Sonic frontiers tube stage challanges todays best under $1000 stages. The Rotel RCD 971 remains a CD player to be heard, not yet upgraded as only SACD seems to be a srtep up and there is limited software. Vinyl is still sweet and available used in quantity. The Silverline Audio line of speakers are bargins and musical. SET friendly and visually pleassant, they have not yet received thier audio acceptance, so buy some before the market recognizes thier real musical value. The Antique Sound Labs KT88 monoblocks will drive anything at 25 watts per channel class a SE triode. I have upgraded these with Svetlana output pairs. Sweet, musical, and non fatiguing and very inexpensive if bought used. Enjoy and have change left in your pocket!

A system to sink deep into the music with. Very nice, indeed. I wish more people could hear systems like this. It's a whole 'nother world, as you know! Have you tried replacing stock power cords? It can be amazing. You should do the 30 day trial on the Richard Gray Power Co 400. See comments in my system above. No risk - potentially staggering results. (I skipped the test and bought one used on (where else?) Audiogon.
