Description

The moving company trashed my TT's, arms, cartridges, and cd transport, so they have been deleted.

I have added my new TT and Arm, and I am still looking for a new cartridge.

I like the Power Ovals. I have found the Analysis Plus line to be very clean sounding in that they do not add or take away from what was recorded. They have no coloring of their own. In my opinion they are very efficient conductors.

How do you like the Power Oval PC's? Did you have a second choice?

System edited: Added the APS Pure Power 1050 power regeneration/voltage stabilization with battery back-up. I found it to be a "must have" to deal with the crappy power here in up-state NY.

Hi Dave,

Congratulations on the new gear and CS-2's! That's some mighty fine gear there! Great job. With a few hundred hours logged on the speakers and associated gear, you'll be dancing around your room im sure! The Cs-2's get so much more transparent and dynamic. Love the analog gear. Some serious playback gear for sure.

Enjoy!

Hi Dave,

Would love to see some pic's of this system some time. Did you ever pull the trigger on that pair of Emerald Physics CS-2s??

Twl: I forgot to list the tweaked counterweight and VTA adjustment on the TT. You are correct, the Heavyweight is a very worthwhile tweak.

Smjason: Someday, I want to audition a number of different IC's and power cables. But for now, I'm very happy with the entire Analysis Plus line. I find them to do exactly what their liturature claims without adding a sonic signiture (that my wooden ears can detect) of their own. Also, I'm one of those people that has brand loyalty (for better or worse), and I have to be shown an improvement, for me to move to a "new" product.

For instance, one of my first up-grades was the ML 37 Transport. I was so impressed, I followed it with the ML 380S Pre-amp. However, if I had purchased the Herron MC Phono Stage first, I would probably have gotten the Herron Pre-amp, because the Phono Stage is so good. Lucky I did not start with Bose!

I'd recommend a Expressimo Audio Heavyweight counterweight for your Rega arm. It makes alot more improvement than you think would be possible from just a counterweight change. A very worthwhile improvement for under $100. In my opinion, one of the best low cost things you can do for your table. When I put one of them on my OL arm, I was quite surprised at the amount of improvement I got.

I would deffinately try out some different cabling, it's not that the AP isn't good, you can just do better, especially with the quality of your other components. I would highly suggest Acoustic Zen, I heard the AP and AZs back to back and the Zen's are just a much better cable. Try hologram speaker cable and the matrix or silver ic, maybe also the Tsunami power cord, good luck
