Hello to you all. Musicland- Both my Levison amps- 23.5 & mono-blocks 20.6 amps run warm, but not hot. Make sure you have plenty of ventilation (no cabinets or enclosures for Levisnon amps) & good power cables on them. Also, your 23.5 amp might be working real hard if you are driving inefficient speaker. That's the main reason I decided to biamp my Wilson Maxx speakers. I had tube gear in the past older AR Classic 150s & D-250 & CJ premiers 5 amps all at different times. I love tubes but just too much of a hassle. Plus got tired of the hum and the heat from them cooking. They are wonderful when everything is right. Jadis tube gear is sweeeet ! I heard the big JA 500s and almost bought them after doing so. One day I'll get back into tubes once I retire and settle down. I love LA to visit friends. I live in uptown Manhattan- born and raised in NYC. Lost several friends & a cousin in the tragedy, so it's been tough. Music & God is the best comfort. - Joe

i agree with audio999 tubes transport you to the experience. levinson being damn good gives you whats on that cd or record. tubes take you to the live concert. only a few of you on here have heard of my amps and preamp, but i doubt anyone has heard bass from tubes like these. tube research. if you ever heard these jo your levinson would be on audiogon. sweet gear though.

GOOD HI-FI......for heard HI-FI. FOR heard MUSIC get rip on your ML or any other SS. I was started my system with ML 336 in 1999 and WOW I was so surprised and happy with the sound, like you. When i changed with Jadis/tube 9 months ago... WOOOOOOOW... This is what MUSIC should be.

No need to upgrade the ML's, once you hear it. Perfect synergy with the gear and cables. I am very happy with this setup and results.

rev_joe

Why not upgrade the ML's?

LOLOL Hueske. Reverend Joe is just a nickname because my Uncle is the real "Reverend Joe". I just happen to look like him except a younger version. Everybody in the neighborhood use to call me the Reverend and it stuck for forty years. I am a stock broker by trade. My Uncle Joe would send me to confession if I told him how much money I spent on my sick hobby. Compared to how much I contributed to the church this year. If I go to hell, it's because of this.

I hope your moniker doesn't imply that you're a reverend because your system is quite unholy. I only hope MY offerings on sunday morning don't contribute to this sort of mis-behaviour! Happy Listening!
