Description

Four years ago I had an $80 ten year old Kenwood and two speakers that were held together with glue and gum. I started with a Denon home theater reciever and Dfinitive Tech surround speakers. Four speaker changes, and multiple other changes later this is my system. All two channel, including sacd and dvd-a(don't like the surround much) is routed through the Rogue. The B&K is relegated to decoding dvd's and satellite. I have hardwood floors but there is no effect on the sound. Fortunately behind where I sit it is open to the right & left, only a small wall directly behind me. Alan, the owner of Silverline Audio, personally delivered my speakers and said I had a very neutral room. He already had my money so I know he was not fibbing, and he is a great guy. Well, I don't know if what I have is perfect but I certainly enjoy the sound. The hardwood floors are great for sliding to the music. Anyone have any money they can loan me?

Hi,

I am deciding on an acquisition of the Rogue Stereo 90 amp that you seem to have in your system. Since my rack space is a little tight (just 12cm of air above the amp), I would like to know how hot this amp can get while playing. Can you touch it on top or is it too hot for that?
Thank you very much!
Best regards, Alexandre

I should have checked my grammar, one glass of wine too many.

Jond,
I forgot I had my system posted and just ran across it accidentally. I don't like effect grilles have on speakers, any speakers, but I did not like the idea of taking them on and off but dust on the drivers posed a problem. Solution, I went to a local tailor shop and had very fine material that is used for lining the inside of suit pants/jacket cut to my measurement and hemmed. About $10. I use a little blue tack on the back of the speaker to attach one end of the material and I fold it up when my system is on and down to protect the drivers from dust when its off. I think I will call them speaker "bonnets!" It works!! As do the simple cork I use instead of spikes.

Yohjo,
What are those things on top of your speakers?

Simplicitymusic,
The equipment is actually 2-3 feet behind the front of the speakers.
