Description

I’ve been in this hobby since I was 16 years old and now being 61 I’ve been thru a lot of gear, a lot. I love equipment and experimenting with different combinations.

As you can see, I’m mainly into vinyl but do have a nice collection of CD’s and SACD’s. My main love is 50’s and 60’s classic jazz but I also love blues and of course, classic rock. I was given a huge collection of classical which sits on the bottom shelf of my album rack.

My main system is based around my VPI Scoutmaster table with a Lyra Kleos cartridge. I am using a Aesthetix Rhea phono stage, ARC LS-27 pre amp, Threshold S200 amp, Musical Fidelity A5 CD player and mostly Cardas Clear cables. The RTR is an old AKAI unit given to me by a friend. It still plays and sounds great.

Speakers are a real passion and curse for me as I am always looking for the next level but think my Harbeth 30.1 will be keepers. I mainly had various Magnepan models up to 3.5’s over the years but my music room is small and they were just too much speaker to work well. I’ve also had Merlin’s, Klipsch Forte II’s, and a few others I can’t recall.

My second system has Devore Gibbon 8’s powered by a CJ Premier 11 amp and a ARC LS-7 preamp. The table is a Rega 25 with a Denon 110 cart. The phone stage is a PS Audio GCPH unit. The CD player is a Marantz 8004.

I also have an old PS Audio 200c amp. This thing is a real beast but sounds great even thought it is really old.

I get great enjoyment going into my basement and playing with different combinations of gear and then sitting back and listening to some great old jazz. My wife is very understanding but if she knew how much money is sittting in these racks I would be a dead man.

I have various wall and sound treatments and numerous tweaks.

Hope you enjoy my pictures.

Great stuff. The CJ amp is really sweet. I chuckled over the wife comment. I'm in the same boat, as I'd bet most of us are.
