Description

I don't want to listen to the system at all, I want to listen to the music. In order to do this I need the system to deliver detail and emotional communication of the music. I think that I've found this now.

Future plans - buy more music. If I have the money I want to replace all interconnects with Argento Serenity cables, and possibly upgrade the turntable. I'm not sure if I'll DIY and build a resin plinth, or a new turntable. In any case I'll upgrade the arm to a Thales Simplicity.

We're going down similar paths. I've ended up with a direct rim drive tt/air bearing linear tracking arm/Straingauge cart. Radically different from my prev, more traditional belt drive tt/pivoted arm/standard cart.
As you've noticed, inner groove distortion is a thing of the past. Error free tracking is imbueing an inner calm to music reproduction, but not at the expense of excitement.
A fantastic balance!
Love your Thales rig, a beautiful tt/arm combination, fantastic engineering, at a real world price.

System edited: It's taken a long time (30 years) to find a turntable that was a significant improvement on my Funk Firm modified Pink Triangle, but finally I've done it. Inner groove distortion be gone!
