A beautiful room and system.

Happy Listening!

@subterranean6 That's exactly what I did a few days ago. I'm using a 1/3 setup where the speakers are 1/3 of the way in to the room and the sweet spot is 1/3 of the way into the room. Imaging and bass has improved tremendously.

Love the room!  Small and cozy.  If it were me, I'd keep working / enjoying in the smaller space.  Maybe bring the speakers out into the room a bit.

@audionoobie. Yes definitely an improvement with the DAC3. People either love the Benchmarks or hate them. Dollar for dollar, I think it's the best DAC available-so versatile with an awesome HP amp built in. I just figured you wanted to stay within the Mytek family.

@gadmanrdh Wow..the Manhattan II is a lot of money. More money than my speakers. I just saw that you have the Benchmark DAC. I've been looking at that as a potentiall upgrade for the Mytek Liberty. Do you think it would be an improvement or more a lateral move?

audionoobie

@audionoobie - sorry. I meant to say the Mytek Manhattan II for a new DAC for you. I'd pass on the Brooklyn and go straight to Manhattan II.

gadmanrdh

Thanks. Yeah the Prestiges come off a tad bright. I'm saving up for a pair of Audio Physics....some day. As far as DAC goes-that Mytek Brooklyn looks awesome. I'd get one but my priority now are loudspeakers.

@gadmanrdh Thanks! I loooove your room as well. How are you likiing those Paradigms? I had the 75F for about a week. I thought they were a little bright sounding but I wonder if I gave them enough time. The detail was incredible though. What DAC would you suggest? Go higher up the Mytek food chain?

@mjcmt The Anthem STR was a demo. It was intended as a replacement for the Belles, but I like the Belles better. for $2k and at 75WPC, the Belles does a lot of things right.

audionoobie

I don't see the Anthem STR integrated amp in the photos listed. Was it a replacement for the Belles Aria or the other way around? It may be a better match in a larger room or with different speakers. Are you keeping it for a future system?

mjcmt

Nice setup!

Looks like you've certainly done your homework. I think the room is fine. If you dont like the STR, I'd humbly suggest selling it and upgrading the DAC. How is the build quality on the GIK traps? I considered them recently. Mike.

@dj I agree! I plan on purchasing a Rega P3 sometime in the near future!

audionoobie

I'm thinking you need something to fill that top shelf!  HaHa

@robelvick, @bubba12 Thanks for the compliments.

@robelvick I dont really care for the STR integrated. It lacks the punch and slam that the Belles has. It sounds very smooth and tubby. Also, when I use the room correction it totally throws off the imaging. Where as the Belles has rock solid imaging.

audionoobie

How do you like the STR integrated?  Beautiful room by the way.  Digging it!

robelvick

I like it. Simple. Clean. Nice room.
