As of yesterday, I now have 2 XLR cables (PS & PAD Dominus)plus the CAST interconnect. I will perform A/B testing once I get everything installed & report back. It may be a month or so before I feel that everything has settled in. The same goes for the 32X. Thanks for all your replies.
Have you made a A/B comparison between using CAST and a very good pair of XLR interconnects?
CAST makes a lot of sense and I used it in my application (also because I need a long cable run) without really comparing it with a very good pair of balanced interconnects.
I still have the 32X DA from my previous system, but not sure that I'll hook it up to my new gear. My Mirage M1's and the Nakamichi (oldest gear)are also left over from my previous system. Thanks for everyones comments.
I noticed that your are still using the 32X D to A. I presume that you are driving it from the digital out of the SACD player. I am somewhat surprised.
Last year I went from the Krell Studio to the Marantz SA14 SACD player, and after breaking in and proper set-up, the internal dac surpased the use of the Krell. As much as I liked the Krell DAC, it is definitely older technology that is not up to the Marantz.
Actually, I just received the new gear recently, and am just finishing up the room prep work. The new lines are in, & today I'll start hanging the bass traps. Then I can unbox & connect the gear. The new speaker cables should arrive Friday, so............ Thanks for your replies.
Nice, I'll guess that the old M1's sound very good with the Krell. Their thirst for power and somewhat dark sound should be a great match. I hope you've got a large room to go with all that great gear!!
