Well there was a rack just posted and it sold quickly.   I missed out as the seller was running an auction.  If you ever want to sell let me know.  Best Bill

George,  The Rix Rax are hard to find.   I spoke to Rick several times and I should have bought it.   I never thought he go under.  I did hear he fell severely ill.   I am not sure who has one but I will keep looking.   Box Furniture makes a nice rack.    Silent Running.   Aria Materia out of Italy also has a nice rack for heavy objects.   I am happy to put you in touch with them.   I prefer the old wood Rick used but I may have to give in to modern times.   Anyways,  I thought to ask because they are so beautiful.    Best Bill

Actually I have been looking for another one.  The Rix Rak is a great rack specially if you have a really large and heavy turntable or other heavy components.  I also like the Zoethecus  racks but their shelves are good to about 95 lbs.

Beautiful systems.    Please let me know if you ever want to sell the Rix Rax 4 shelf.   I have always wanted one even though they are heavy.   Best Bill

The Ascendo’s weigh about 275 lbs each.  The stands are filled with about 50 lbs of silica sand for a total weight of approx 120 lbs.  I recently moved and although the speakers break down into 3 manageable pieces, the stands were rather heavy as we opted not to remove the sand.
I first heard the Ascendo System M at CES around 2005 and was really impressed with their sound but new these are quite expensive so I had to wait until 2014 before the price came down enough for me to afford them.  Two of my other audio friends also own a pair of these.

Great room. Love the Ascendos and the turntable. With VAC and reel to reel--it is a beautifully thought out system. Clearly, you love vinyl like I do and are willing to spend to get the best. Incidentally, I used to have the same record brush as you and moved up to the Audioquest antistatic record brush for $30. It truly is anti-static and much better at brushing the records clean and not attracting dust as the record plays. A no brainer. Check it out. And once again, congrats on one of the best systems on Audiogon.

ASCENDO System MS ...   hi, tell me, how much do the steel speaker stands weigh? Is it solid steel or a profile filled with something inside (bitumen, sand, shot)?

Well, the second question - where did you get so much money to buy such beauty? )))

Beautiful system! Great work!

And, I rarely ever say this to a guy (or gal, honestly), but: "Nice rack." Really, I have some very strongly positive feelings about your rack. Wowsa.

George, beautiful room for the system in your new house. The Acendos must sound phenomenal in a room that has the size to let them breathe!

I'd enjoy hearing all about how well everything works in the new room. I'll give you a call soon.

Best regards,
Dan

Three killer systems! How do you choose which to listen to?

Must be tough getting out of the house.
