Description

This is my first system ever. Now I'm looking for a good Cd-Player/Transport (less than 1,5K) and a 2ch Amplifier to drive my Aerius i (for Hi-Fi music). Can someone give me some suggestions?

Flav, I have a similar setup w/ M/L SL-3's and a Sunfire Cinema Grand pushing them. My next upgrade will be a Sony DVP-9000ES. If I were you I would sell your DVD player and use the money for the Sony. IT plays DVDs and SACDs as well as conventional CDs. I would like to upgrade from the Ref 20 to a Sunfire Theater Grand 2 because I did not see the sense in buying a rear center channel to utilize the Ref 30's EX/ES capability. So there are my 2 cents. Buy a Sunfire amp to fully utilize the Martin Logans and a SACD/DVD player. Good luck.

Flavioleoni, I use a B&K Ref 2220 to drive my Aerius in a 2 channel only set up and it sounds pretty good. Bought the amp new before I discovered audigon so probably could have scored a better amp used for same price. User here by the handle of PCC swears by BAT gear for a match with Aeius. Proceed/levinson get good comments for a match and the rogue line 'sposed to be good. My HT setup is all Klipsch (M&K sub), but I'd wager your next paycheck the Aerius move upstairs to be complemented by Scripts and the Cinema within the next year...will just have to get some CLS or Prodigies for 2 channel downstairs... I found the Pro Silway II a great cable for the ICs too...user by name of Disco has best prices I've found. Good luck Mitch
