I have always loved Plinius and the Polk LSI series are hidden audiophile gem. Both are very smooth and relaxed. Is the combo too much of a good thing? Have you tried the Plinius w/ more dynamic speakers, but maybe this combo has great synergy, as I haven't heard them together. What are your experiences? Anyway, I love your well thought out choice of equipment.

I must have to say that plinius 9100 with LSi9 by Polk sounds very good!
I have it as my second system the prime its the Parasound halo 21 amp with the JC2 pre amp plus the LSI15 by Polk, cant complain.
any suggestions!
enjoy thanks.

My friend is a cabinet maker he made it & my stand.
It drops in, just cosmetic. He did it for $45.00. I
stained it.

Did you make a wooden plinth to drop your SL-1200 into? Did it affect the sound, or is it just cosmetic?

Thanks! I thought about the Project but got a good deal
on the Grado. I was also thinking about the Herbies mat,
I'll check it out again.

I do have the Fluid Damper. It's listed if you click
on the Technics, plus if you click on the picture you
get a nice close up of the 1200 :)

Great, simple system -- sensible, balanced, perfect for the room it's in.

My only suggestion would be to investigate a different phono stage if you happen to be looking for a little more life, air and wider, deeper soundstaging. I own a Technics 1200, reviewed the Pro S30 and owned a Grado preamp at one time but I keep coming back to two phono stages for use with the Technics: Todd The Vinyl Junkie's Millett Hybrid for $850, and Pro-Ject's Tube Box II SE for $700. They'll also give you more flexibility in terms of loading so you'll have more options in case you ever decide to try a different cartridge.

Oh, and check out the Herbie's Way mat for the Technics. That's a cheap upgrade that provides a very noticeable improvement. The KAB Fluid Damper and Sumiko HS-12 headshell (should you ever change to a standard-mount cartridge) are nice, affordable upgrades, too.

Aside from some fun, beer-budget tweaking, I say you've got a system that you can own and enjoy for years and years to come. Congrats!
