This description needs to be updated, coming soon.
This is the second half of my dual purpose system (see Craftsman Compatible - 2 channel, in "Ever Evolving"). The HDTV produces excellent picture, especially at night, 73" is great size for this great room. DVD playback is very enjoyable but it would be interesting to see a 1080i upconverting unit (only have component so not ready for HDMI). I've been looking at DLP's but picture too good on this unit to get rid of it quite yet. Anthem is an incredible pre/pro that I continue to learn more about (still experimenting with surround modes). Possible AVM-30 upgrade (becomes AVM-50) would add HDMI switching and upconverting via component and HDMI, but $1700 makes me pause, we'll see. B&W's are smooth, sweet and with B&K behind them pack plenty of punch when needed (also good for music when I don't want to turn on 2 channel system). Nola subs are literally brand new, not even hooked up yet (replacing B&W ASW675) - will update.
Hey Velocity - Thanks. Just took a peek at the 5910, looks nice. Don't think I would spend that much without getting one of the HD formats at this point and maybe HDMI 1.3. I agree, a better DVD and eventually newer screen technology would bring a significant step forward. Fortunately I'm still enjoying this setup and my patience has improved so I'll probably sit on the sidelines and watch for the next year or so. The big "analog" Mits does look nice and still has some good watching left in it.
