Started out 10 yrs ago with a pr of Tukans, then went to activ kabers with Kairn, karik numerik, then to Unidisk sc with c6100, played the upgrade/swapping game for a while, and now I'm quite pleased with the results. The Lingo Power supply was most recent upgrade...and a great one..the lyrics that you could never really make out are now understandable. Enjoy the (havent heard that before) reaction while listening. But most of all, the Music flows, boogies, has a great tune and PRaT (I know, typical Linnie)...i myself am not a big "soundstage, image" fanatic, but what ive found out while upgrading this system is that as the tune becomes more involving, so do the other aspects in many cases, thus adding to the overall presentation in a positive manner. Yes, i have no CD player. Recently sold my Ikemi to help pay for amp and power supply upgrade (oh the sacrafices we must make), Vinyl is main prefernece by far anyhow, so ill live without a cdp as long as needed. I listen to vinyl about 2 hrs a day, and its the best 2 hrs of the day...usually an hour by myself and an hour with the wife and little one. Only Items bought new were analog gear...no way could i afford new retail prices for other gear. Bought many pieces here at agon, and im greatful to have such a great place to swap gear, and ideas, and make friends along the way. Thanks for looking, and i welcome any comments or suggestions.

picked up newer version 242s to replace 212 and 221. i used to think i wanted solos and 242...now i have no desire to...these 242s just ROCK, and are way more musical than their little brothers...
sold the 2 4200s, got a klimax chakra twin, akurate 221 sub, and upgraded to quadraspire acrylic reference wall mount for lp12 as well as 2 more shelves for pre and phono pre. the Twin is a GREAT amp... even though im not activ anymore, you can tell how much better this amp really is. yes some things are missed as a result of going passive...but no regrets at all! ultimatel would love to get a pr of solos to drive 3K array, and use twin for bass...would also like to pick up the current pr of komris for sale...such a great price, but still out of my league.
Tim, Thank you for your comments. As you can see i dont even have a cdp as i sold my ikemi to pay for new stuff. Your system is sharp! very clean and well thought out. FWIW i went from genki to ikemi and it was well worth it. second hand, it will cost you about 1k out of pocket..thx again and enjoy the music!
Love your system and dedication. I recently purchased a used Genki and was impressed enough to try a LK-85. The amp was a whim and I sold it. I could happily live with the Genki and a couple of 85s or a LK-140. Nice clean look.
Hi jaf i love the chakra amps i was going to buy the c2200 but then i listend to the klimax chakra the rest is history
But as with all highly transperant amps wich the chakra most surtenly are the neede to be match with top notch front end or the will sound a litte bit glarish and bright.
can only imaging that the kontrol is a wonderfull combi with the chakras.
I love sonus fabers thats all there is to it i do beleive that active is superior but since most sonus fabers are very efficeient the solos will be more then plently.

I actually did have a sub, a Rel storm 3, when i had 100w chakra amps. i just recently upgraded to 200w chakra amps and lingo 2 (putting me over budget a bit) but didnt need the sub with the new amps. I plan to move in about 8-12 mos, and will eventually get a sub..perhaps artikulate 345. ALso, to move away from linn speakers, not sure i want to do that simply because i love activ speakers. I think non lonn speakers need a ultra high quality amp like the solos as the passive crossover network in any speaker is the weak link.
