Description

I guess one could say that I am quick to embrace new trends in audio. I store all of my music on a computer, and my speakers employ DSP crossovers, driver correction, and digital amplifiers.

After treating my room with bass traps and absorbtion at the first reflection points (still working on the ceiling) I consider them essential to achieving good sound.

You won't find any exotic cables in my system because I think they are a racket.

The system is sounds clean, immediate, and revealing, with a massive soundstage and precise imaging. The speakers let music pass through without adding coloration.

NHT Xd's are absolutely fantastic. They are designed to present music without any coloration of their own so if you are into a "warm" Sonus Faber type sound then they are not for you.

My prior speakers were Dynaudio Confidence C1's paired up with a Velodyne DD-15. The NHT's stomp all over that combo in every category barring bass extension. The DD-15 could dig a bit deeper than the Xd subs.

Are the NHT XD's all they're cracked up to be? They got some huge reviews all over the place. What other speakers did you compare them to?
