At Artk, thank you and sorry about the late reply haven’t been visiting this site as much as I would like to.

Pdreher, the Almarro indeed a work of art! Everyone who sees it are intrigued by it especially about those 6C33B Russian tubes.

Thank you

The Korneff and Yamamoto were built by Jeff Korneff aka "sonic oli". I once owned a pair of Klipsh Cornwalls and used those amps.

This is my latest effort in assembling gears that I feel work together and it is by far, the most enjoyable system I have ever owned. Natural and involving!

The Tetras are one of those speakers that I've always wanted to own, and must admit that they do not disappoint. Amazing bass from a 4.5"woofer and I especially like their clean, detailed sound without being bright.

The AVA UltraValve was another piece in my radar, and I'm also very pleased with the performance.

Lastly, treating the room with RoomTunes should have been my number one priorities long ago. These soft pillow like devices have transformed my room for the better by taming down reflections bringing forth nuance, and details. Overall everything sounds more natural.

System edited: The Ushers came to me as a trade for my Tonians from a local
dealer. Can't beat local transactions, no shipping and I get to meet passionate
music lovers! Love the transparency and neutrality that those speakers exhibit.
Bass extension is truly phenomenal for a speaker that size. The Monarchy SM70
Pros were recommended to me by a reviewer from Stereo Times. Soon after,
placed a call and chatted with the designer, Mr. Poon. The rest is history. Great
little amps that displays amazing punch, yet sweetly detailed!

Hello,

Sorry about the late response. I'm not quite sure about the wizard cone but the driver is the Fostex FE207E.

Hope this helps.

Needfreestuff,

Thank you, I'm really enjoying it. May I also convey that your system is very impressive. The PBN Audio groove master is work of art.

System edited: Acquired a Decware CSP2. Although I will miss the Eva 2 for its transparency and neutral sounding presentation, I much prefer the bold, and nuance quality that the CSP2 imparts. Joel Scilley of Audiowood: Analog Living sent along with the amp, a lovely frame made of recycled wine cask wood that he had personally made for himself. A sort of Zen quality that adds striking looks to the CSP2.

Hi Pradeep,

Yes, they are DH Labs Jumbo cones. I find that they breath a little more air, and ambience to the Wavac. I also have a set of Super under the cdp. At some point, I will transfer those under the Wavac for some comparisons.

Next, I will experiment with Mapleshade brass cones, and weights.

Hi Charles,

Thank you! I've always admired your system and I'm also a big fan of Coincident speakers, along with their amps.
You are correct with you assumption of the Wavac/Tonian pairing. The Tonians I find, are very engaging, accurate and brings forth all the wonderful attributes that the wavac has to offer.

I plan to acquire some brass weights, and cones from Mapleshade Records to further tune the system.

Sunnyboy1956,

Thank you for the kind remarks, I'm really enjoying the system. The Wavac has you pointed out, is exquisite and I've never owned an amp before that consistently weaved such an organic sound. My room is on the small side, so 15 watts is more than enough. The Tonian speakers with their 95db efficiency are also up for the task.

I've always wanted to try tube dampers and after some readings, I've discovered Herbie Audio Lab products. In place, I sensed that the music was more alive, a soundstage more stable, and more control on the bass.

By the way, your system is quite impressive, especially the HE833 V2. Congratulations!

Thank you for your kind remarks. I'm really enjoying it! May I also compliment you on yours also, it must be a lot of fun owning two systems. They must also bring you a lot of joy.

Adam18,

Rien de rien, as she would say! Thank you for the compliments. In the future, I plan to make few changes here and there, but for the time being I'm happy with the results.

Bonjour, Roccl007.

J'ai souvent visite Montreal surtout pendant les mois de Juillet et d'Août pour le Festival De jazz. Montreal est une tres belle ville et j'espere encore y retourne un de ces jours.

Bonne ecoute.

Owner
Shakey,

Thank you for the kind words, and may I say your system and room looks mighty impressive. I've had a similar experience with an earlier version too, and I have to admit being smitten ever since.

Given the De Capos performance, moving up the line sure looks tempting. Hoping one day I'll have the opportunity to hear the Grand Veenas.

Enjoy!

toudou

Owner
I find that the De Capos do not need wall reinforcement, depending on the room size
of course. In my room, they are placed 4' from the front wall and approx. 2' from side
walls in order to smooth out bass response, and wall reflections.

I once had a room similar to your dimensions, and ended up with a diagonal position. The
results were quite impressive.

Big changes ahead for you? Keep me posted.

toudou

Owner
Rockadanny, thank you for the kind words they are much appreciated. Much has been changed with the de Capos design since its introduction, and I think having read somewhere as being Mr. Gohka's favorite in the line.

I was introduced to the De Capo's back in 2001/02 and loved them right away. The finish on mind, that is no longer offered, is just lustrous! I find them quite phenomenal, and very revealing to what's feeding them.

Hope you get the chance to hear them one day.

toudou

Owner
Lapierre, thank you for the compliments. They're much appreciated. I've long admired your set up, and love those Mac amps.

The Fila/De Capo combo is indeed special, and I'm quite pleased with the results.

My room is on the small side, 12' X 8', so as you can imagine a near field listening situation is the only solution, and the De Capo's are quite phenomenal at it.

As for room placements, I use the Cardas calculator as a guide and slowly made incremental changes as to get the smoothest tonal balance. So basically, a lot of listening.

As far as HiFi roadmap, I plan on buying more music. So much of it out there!

Are you planning any changes yourself?

toudou

Owner
Merci pour le compliment. Where are you located?
