My Home Theater had to be close in sound to my Audio system and I started it by choosing EAD components for their musicality and surprising soundstage presentation. DVDMaster doubles as a great video source. Next, I narrowed down on the speakers. Vandersteens are known to be one of the most musical speakers on the market. They keep the same sonic signature in the Home Theater as well. Simaudio's powerhouse, Titan-7, completed the audio part of the system.

With EAD DVDMaster's Adagio output and Synergistic Research active "The Line Doubler" component cable DWIN TV3 (w/HD2) is "clear as a bell" with very natural color and is free of any video artifacts.

In my opinion, this system is so good that I can easily say: "I found another "Sound of Music". Even if it is in the multi-ch application.

We are thinking along the same lines with the subs. If you get 5A's I would still get the extra 2WQ sub for the rears for the same reasons you mentioned above.

My rear 2WQ's get alot of action in both movies and multichannel music, even when I engage my LFE subs. They sound better than using my rears alone (I have VSM sigs).

BTW: I redirect the bass from my center channel to my main speakers. I think this is the best option with the VCC-5 once you get 5A's or augment your 3A's with 2WQ's as you lose directional sense of where bass is coming from.

Great system!!!

I think your next upgrades, if you have room and WAF, should be to get 4 2wQ subs (get 2 for your mains first). It is really cool having full range speakers all the way around and you will be surpised how much better your midrange sounds when you do this.

Also, try to phantom the center speaker when listening alone and let me know how good it sounds compared to your VCC-5.
