thx jim!

well after trying literally dozens of dacs since 2020 when i started streaming during covid, i finally tried a relatively inexpensive lampi on a lark last summer - i've been stunned how good these are... so i've picked off several others as they show up in the used market, just to hear for myself how the different ones up the chain sound... always fun to discover!  this guy in poland lukas has figured out something special...

jjss49

I didn’t realize your Laminate bench was that fantastically DEEP :-) wonderful to have that learning discernment opportunity with the pressure to return a loaner - enviable. I hold Lami in high enough regard to send one on the “ lend-lease program to my brother !!!! At some point if I ever replace the Aesthetix DAC I will pick your brain..
best to you in music
Jim

Marco those are separate DACs.  Older Level 4 DACs without exposed tubes sitting below Baltic and Golden Atlantic.  Comparing them A/B/C/D...  have a Lite 7 DHT model too, not hooked up.  Bewildering permutations of DACs and tubes that can be rolled with Lampi's... all sound wonderful but the differences are there to be heard...

jjss49

I’m intrigued by your Lampi arrangement.  What are the units beneath the two DAC’s?  What are you trying to accomplish?

I recently saw your comment on the Weiss Dac that you upgraded to the Mark II. I own a Mark one and have been considering the upgrade. Could you describe to me the sonic differences you experienced and did you feel it was worth the extra expense? Finally, roughly how long was the turnaround time to get the dac upgraded and back to you?

Thanks,

Larry.

tuberist

from rshaw: All i can say is WOW, also. You have top shelf, beautiful stuff!!!!! So jealous, You responded to my post :  Looking for a very good amp.  I appreciated your time and expertise, of which I have little. You mentioned that you tried an experiment in bi-amping your Pass 30.5 and now are thinking about parting with one. Just curious about the unit? my cell, if you would feel comfortable in calling is 931-303-3009 or email [email protected]. I live in TN, outside of the Nashville area,  or if not just post me the particulars of the unit, age etc. Thanks again for you comments.

Amazing assortment of gear.
How would you compare if possible, the Conrad Johnson ET7-II tube linestage to a gat?

I hear Cj loves to use teflon capacitors.

we have two homes but most of the gear is in the dedicated room in the main 'city' home... yes i rotate... variety is fun, varying presentations are wonderful to hear

pack rat/hoarder, big house lotsa storage, just retired/empty nested, bad combo for accumulating wayyyy too much gear :)

jjss49

jjss49 I can't believe I've never seen your system? systems? until now! Just wow you have so much amazing gear and I LOVE those Spendors! Are you running one setup and alternating speakers/amps or running a few concurrently?
