Yup, you can hold up a bridge with 10ga.. that's why most electricians will tell you 12a is fine.. they hate to work with 10ga too!

The aluminum spikes, actually very nice cones, are optional. If you're going to use the rack on hardwood the flat "glides" are supposed to sound better, if on carpet then the cones/spikes..
