Description

60/40 movies/music. Started out with a 27" SONY TV, NAK reciever, SSI pro-logic surround processor and Altec Lansing bookshelf speakers all for about $2K. I was hooked after watching Terminator 2 on LD.

12 yrs. later...as good as I can get for HT. Getting better in 2/ch especially with recent upgrade of the VAC 2ch pre and Audio Note dac.

I realize I'll always be compromising to a certain degree by not separating the 2 systems but I simply do not have the room. As is, I think it sounds pretty good!

Might experiment again in the near future with other AC conditioners.

Jose21, what's acid jazz? Who are some of the artists? I'm from the acid rock era - how does it compare?

Hey there JD3. Nice system you have. Before the HGS-15, I had the 1012, and the FSR-12. Both were just OK, so in came the HGS-15, bass in a different league. It broke after a year so I sent the amp in to Velodyne and they upgraded it at no charge to the series II(so I was told).
Love my FM. Have a great station(88.3)close by that plays 24 hr. jazz. Any and all types of jazz/bossa nova are fine with me, even acid jazz(when I'm in the mood).
Get yourself a chance to listen to the VT3s. Great prices now that they're discontinued. If you like the "sound" of your VT2s, you'll be amazed by the VT3s.

Your system is the next step up from mine (JD3 NHT VT-2). I have the NHT VT-2 mains with VS-2a center & rears. What made you buy the Velodyne HGS-15 II? I have an audio buddy with the NHT 3.3 with Classe amp, pre-amp, & Sony SACD-1. Ready smooth with even tonality. I have yet to hear the NHT VT-3. I see your into your FM, I hope its better than here in southern CA...our jazz & classical FM has been changing hands alot, not much to listen to on any form of broadcast. I buy my music by the history books. What type of jazz are you into?
