Description

Welp, here it is.

Pretty happy with things. Outboard amp for the JMlabs, nice plasma hanging on the wall, dual subs, good universal player and a respectable reciever for the price range. :)

Hey Slappy, Why don't you look at NHT SB-3's, which are a closed box design that hits a low of 39. They sound really great when driven w/ 100-140 of Denon or B&K wpc. They are so NOT stereophile class D! Used you should be able to swing them into budget, if you save your lunch monies???

I auditioned them for a 3rd system which was broken down. I was overly impressed with them for the money. I sold them to Audiogon'R "Tankeny" who posted a really thorough review on here.

Good to see you are in better spirits, Slappy!

Ciao.

Your on your way..Back, Slap! Heck, I've had to start my system over from scratch twice in the last 30 years. Been pretty steady for the last 10 years or so though...KNOCK ON WOOD!!!

I will post some fun pics soon, i will even include a few pics of my gear, the dogs, and whatever else i can find. My speakers still have that contact paper my ex put on there. hahahaha

Hey Slappy, where are all the cool pictures of you in your raised-hand DEVO pose with the military haircut? Or did the ol' lady take them photos?

I'd been seeing a bunch of Denon POAs come up on A'Gon recently and thought of snatching one up. Vandersteens will probably sound good with 'em!

Have you thought of looking into these?

I'm considering it.

I have similar plans and dreams for my system, but mine revolve more around creating a great music, reading and computer haven.

Go get 'em Slappy!

Ok, now you've got tunes. Let's see...future plans.....maybe a nice female to enjoy it with. Yeah , that's it, someone to support and encourage your audio addiction. I'm writing this as I'm listening to "This Year's Model" fairly loud at 8:00 in the morning. My wife and children have all gone someplace important (work, school). Go get 'em Slappy!

All the best.

Nice choice on the Vandersteen sigs. I would suggest a pair of their 2wq subwoofers. Superior to most of the garbage passing as musical subwoofers out there and not badly priced I might add!

From your posting, seems you have mastered the art of making the anticipation part of the fun, rather than part of the agony, of our addictive hobby.
Along the upgrade path, give a listen to the bargain, high performance IC's, and speaker cable, from direct seller Audiogon member, Greggstraley, who revolutionized my perspective on the cost (modest) to benefit (wow!) ratio in the very crowded, direct seller, wire manufacturer category.
As you are planning to start slow, and build back up to a higher standard, you can immediately enjoy hearing every other upgrade's contribution through this impressive wiring.
