The philosophy of this system is 'less is more in the analog domain'. The core of this system is the Meitner DCC2 'all in one box DAC / CD - DSD format converter / passive Pre-amp'.

The System uses a minimalist topology with out the usual stand alone Pre-amp to get the signal from the DAC to the volume controlling device. This avoids the losses / colorations inherent in all interconnects & pre-amps.

The Meitner DCC2 takes the raw digital data from the Meitner CDSD transport using their Propietary fibre optic link.

For CD replay the DCC2 performs CD to DSD format conversion on CD data which is then converted to analog using the DCC2's high linearity DSD DACs.

For SACD replay the DCC2 converts the DSD data to analog using the DCC2's high linearity DSD DAC's.

The DCC2 can accept up to two pairs of Aux inputs, one pair in RCA format and the second in XLR format. I connect my Magnum Dynalab MD108 tuner via the RCA input using DNM solid core / Eichmann Bullit plug interconnects.

Source switching / volume control is done by the built-in resistive divider network in the DCC2.

The volume controlled signal is passed from the DCC2's Pre-amp output to the Dartzeel NHB108 a 100w amplifier by DNM solid core RCA interconnects.

The Amp is connected to the speakers by a single 10 foot + / - run of DNM solid core speaker wire.

The Speakers are the Limited edition $6k JMlab Electra Be 927s..these 3 way speakers cover 40 to 37 Khz & feature the cutting their edge Beryllium tweeter...the $11.5 k JMlab Diva (35 hz - 40 Khz) is a likely upgrade for this system.

The DNM cables lack of smearing / outstanding timing cues really shine with these super quick / low distortion Beryllium Tweeters.
