Description

I like the sound of tubes so I’ve moved away from solid state. I now use a tube amp and preamp and listen to a number of sources.

Hey @gsmith5 ,
Long time no updates. What's new in the system?

milpai

Same feeling I get after returning from auditioning loudspeakers. It is most likely because we have optimized our system and also taken great pains to place the loudspeakers in the optimal spot.

gsmith5,
Would like to hear about your experience at RMAF.  Have fun!

milpai

Is the smearing of the notes due to flabby bass? I noted that during the demo at AXPONA this year. Maybe it was the room. But in the demo last week, the bass was better controlled than that at AXPONA.

How are the Audio Points spikes working? What difference did those make over the stock spikes.

milpai

Good to know about the bass response of the D48Rs in a similar room. What finish is that on your ProAcs?

milpai

I just keep coming back to your system. Can you please describe your experience with these loudspeakers? I see you have some formidable gear to go with the ProAcs. My room is so similar to yours (15 X 18 X 8). Did you hear the D48Rs, by any chance?

milpai

Very good setup. I just came back from auditioning the D30RS. They were pretty good sounding. But for some reason I thought they sounded a little darker. What other loudspeakers did you listen before settling down on the D30RS?
