    • Accuphase DG-38
Accuphase Voicing Equalizers DG-38. This somewhat unusual term was chosen to symbolize the advanced capabilities of the DG-38. While this product is a full-fledged high-precision graphic equalizer in its own right, it also incorporates a sophisticated system for automatic sound field compensation. It divides the audible frequency range into distinct bands (voices),and lets the user choose a target response curve that is then expressed (voiced)by the unit through a process of precise measurement and adjustment steps. The result is full control over frequency response characteristics at the listening position. Through creative use of the capabilities offered by the DG-38, the scope of sound reproduction in the home environment can be significantly enhanced. Get ready to experience a new dimension of music enjoyment.

I think you need to buy more stuff!!

ebm

I think he still has the big concrete horn?
I believe there are three separate rooms with different systems in each?
You know how it is............:-)

halcro

Maybe the neighbors were complaining? :-)

The big horns in there prior surely could make themselves heard on occasion.

Seriously though, I would also like to know what prompted the change. Is it possible there can be too much of a good thing?

mapman

That is a radical change- from the custom, actively amplified horns to Kharma?
And what happened to that huge horn-loaded subwoofer in the front wall?
Could you tell what prompted the change, and if you are happy with it?

maril555

Congrats! Big Gryphon fan, having owned Antileon and now Colosseum. Enjoy!

Great system and noticed you have made some changes! I also noticed your picture seems to show 2 Gryphon Antileons whereas the description seems to show only one. Did you move from Antileon Stereo to Antileon monos?

Also, how does the Gryphon Antileon compare with the Boulder 2050 in your system? Thanks for any feedback! Enjoy!

lloydelee21

Have you considered getting a decent turntable?

mcblum

You can't be a serious audiophile with your set up. Why? Because with all those TT rigs out in the open, being directly 'hit' by the acoustical energy, it leaves a 'sound' mess. Please consider taking them out of the room. They are only eye candy.

buconero117

Its nice to got money and have taste.

shurligtam2007

thats a very horny setup .. pun intended :-)

Love your passion for audio! Have you listen to Nguyen Le by ACT record? His recording is superb. I listen to all kind of music and it's rare to find the music with fluid content and superb recording. I cycled through Shindo Lab, Joule, Atma, Krell, Proac... currently settling with MBL + AudioValve, but effort/resources is pale in comparison to yours. I go to VN every other year for medical mission and would like to meet you some day over a cup of coffee. You are so freaking crazy in a good way!

Hello Mr. Cuong, truly amazing system... love your cartridges collections. Would you mind telling us which are your favorite cartridges and how each ones deliver sound...? Pat,

patpong

impressive..wondering how;s long does it take to position the WALL HORN... impressed

Hi Cuong,
I wanted to tell you personally but you did not respond to my invitation for exchanging ideas in Sai Gon. So I guess you are very busy which is fine. Let me try this way. I was comparing the Thorens Reference with the Kelch Reference II I had in my system too. As you got your machines from Anton I know they are very good units!

You are right the Thorens is very musical but also a bit soft on the other hand which depends on one`s taste. The Kelch is more stable and provides a lot of pressure too. Once again it depends on the taste and the combination of arms. I used in both cases the FR-66s and the DaVinci Grandezza with the Lyra Olympos and the Zyx UNIverse in those days.

The Micro SX 8000 ( II ) in a very good condition is not a worse choice especially if you are using a matching anti-vibration base and a flywheel on top. The weak side of the Micros are the motor units (sometimes). There are many possibilities to improve stableness and the precision control of the big Micros.

Hello,

Echo prior comments, of course :-)
Haven't noticed any tangential arms...any experiences you can share would be interesting.

Sam

Sorry, my post above should have been addressed to Kkm ( and not Linkoping)

pcoombs

Linkoping, there's a photo of the back and side wall full of LP's on shelves, looks like more music to last a lifetime.

kkm

Linkoping, the third picture along, top row. shows quite a lot of records and cds.
Possibly more so than are, at least, visible in your system pictures.

pcoombs

What's about the music? Look like the whole room is full with equipment, but very little records :(

linkoping

The most exotic and beautiful system I've ever seen on AG.

One can only imagine the sound your room and equipment combine to produce.

Hats off to you Mr. Pham!

Hi Cuong,
you seem to be very busy! BTW did you think about room reflections and what kind of measurements you could do. I am pretty sure that the flat walls could receive an improvement and in terms of akustiks this might me another leap frog for your wonderful collection.

Hi Cuong,
I don't know how good it sounds but your system may be the most expensive in the world. (Tuye^.t vo*`i)
I hope I have a chance to audition it when I visit Vietnam next time.
