Micro Seiki Dual SX 8000 - RX 5000
I have 3 Micro Seiki turntable systems: SX-8000, RX-5000, and RX-1500VG. Each of them has its own motor transport, but due to the narrow shelf, I set up the motor transport of SX-8000 for 2 turntables. No problem in operation. Good looking when both are running at the same time.

Accuphase DG-38
Accuphase Voicing Equalizers DG-38. This somewhat unusual term was chosen to symbolize the advanced capabilities of the DG-38. While this product is a full-fledged high-precision graphic equalizer in its own right, it also incorporates a sophisticated system for automatic sound field compensation. It divides the audible frequency range into distinct bands (voices),and lets the user choose a target response curve that is then expressed (voiced)by the unit through a process of precise measurement and adjustment steps. The result is full control over frequency response characteristics at the listening position. Through creative use of the capabilities offered by the DG-38, the scope of sound reproduction in the home environment can be significantly enhanced. Get ready to experience a new dimension of music enjoyment.

Wow ! What an impressive analog set up. I´ve once owned SX-5000 Air - Micro Seiki has build really superb turntables ! Which one do you like more: the SX-8000 MK I or the Prestige ? Rgds., Frank
Very nice system. I am looking for a Studer myself and that is how I came across your beautiful room and awesome system. One of the the most impressive rooms on Audiogon that I have seen. Well done, enjoy the music.
After many years owing 4350 JBL'S I thought I had put together a great sounding system, my hat is off to you. From how my system sounded,I can only imagine how yours sound. I found over all the years the horns like stranded telephone wire. Are your wood lens custom made or are they WESTLAKE lens. My system consisted of: Cello Pallete, Wadia d/a and Sony transport, Micro Seiki table and custom TUBE pre amp. I used a Levnson ML3 for the bottom end and A 4 chassis modded George Kay NYAL OTL'S for the top. 2/way system 16 ohm amps love 16 ohm horns. Once again I tip my hat to you. ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY ! ! ! SEABREEZE
You don't by chance live in Sai Gon now do you? I have been here for the last two years and would love to meet up with you. I have nothing worth listening to in my apartment now, but regularly go to Hi-End Cafe, M&F, and a few live venues around the city.
Hi Rachmaninov0. I didn't apply any upgrade for my SX8000. Its platter had been gunmetal (a compound of 85% copper, 15% tin & other metals) like what you saw since the time I optained the system.
cuong, I dont knw abt acoustic. When i build my room, I did Level 1 with Rives audio. Level 1 is the only level by Rives audio if you are not fr USA as far as I knw. Anyway dont bother about perfect, just enjoy the music. As for me looking at your system is stimulating enough
Hi Audioblazer. I started to build my system about 6 years ago. At first it is 2 lines horn speakers system with passsive crossover. At that time I really felt in love with sound of the horn and compression driver. So I planned to build a system of horn speakers to use the active crossover. Actually I'm not a professional that's why I have not enough experience and knowledge to build them myself. I expressed this idea to my friend who is an electronic engineer and then he designed this system horn speakers for me. Coming over a lot of obstacles, my system is finally improved from 2 to 3, and 4 lines with passsive crossover. After that the system turns into active crossover. It takes me around 6 years to design, upgrade, test and repair the systems. And it is now temporary with 7 lines and I am very satisfied. Almost tube amplifier I am using is installed by my engineer friend, and some times I am kidding him as Mr. Kondo of Vietnam. :-)
Currently, there is no consulting or designing company specializing in acoustic listening rooms in Vietnam. However, I built my acoustic listening room to my own knowlegde as follows: diamesion 10.6 m length x 5.7 width x 4.0 m height with unparallel walls aurroundings to get rid of square angle, then, standing waves and reflecting souding waves. Measuring result response by DG-38 is acceptable though I am still not very very satisfied with it yet. If you have any experience about this, please let me know. I would highly appriciate.
The catridge Living stereo gold limited belongs to one of my friends. I know that it is very difficult for him to finally get it in hand. After experiencing it at his home, I realize it is the best I have enjoyed in life. Actually, thousands of months with entreaties, threadtenings have been over, I got the dreaming Catridge Living stereo gold limited for my own. I am really happy to have and enjoy it.
Over 6 years of implementation, I can see that my system horn speakers still have many technical problems. But I do want to study & repair it. This is interesting job for me. I hope you to receive your ideas contribution so that I can improve this system day by day.
I received great pleasure looking at and reading about your system. It is people like you why make me enjoy this hobby so much. I wish you many years of listening happiness.
Even more amazing coming from Ho Chi minh city. Was there 5-6 yrs ago. Certainly dont expect to see an audiophile from that country with such exotic set up. Wonder how difficult it must be for you to source catridge like living stereo gold limited. Is your set up design by yourself or do you get professional help ? Maybe you can briefly describe how you arrive at your current set up. You certainly can afford other exotic dynamic speakers but why do you choose to DIY horn speakers. Tell us about your room treatment.
Hi Audioblazer. I live in Hochiminh city Vietnam. It very difficult to tell you does it cost because I have to spend a long time about 5 - 6 years to collect and set up my systems. Best Regards,
2 years of prowling audiogon, this is the most exotic and exciting system I have ever had the privilege of seeing. Wish I have the opportunity to your system. Is really incredible how you manage to get all those rare items which cost a bomb. By the way, where are you located?
Hi Halcro. I am sory. I understand and I wish to answer your question but my english is still limited to exactly describe the whole systems constructions. The sound of systems is amazing and fantastic. I feel the speakers try to demondstrate all signals that they recieve from the sources in a structured way. Moreover, it seems that the speakers voice comes their own feeling, not my willing!!?? Thus, I'm really happy and pleased with it. It is difficult to make a full comparision between this loudspeaker systems to others. However, in comparision with others I used to enjoined such as B & W 802, Sonus Faber Grand Piano Concerto, Sonus Faber Cremona, Avantgarde Duo, Tannoy Arden, Tannoy Gold Monitor,Tannoy Westminter Royal, Tannoy Westminter, Altec Lansing A5 and now I feel the loudspeaker systems is the one I wished. How do you think about my systems? Best Regards,
Hello is woofer a fostex 31.5in w800n, is tweeter fostex t500amk2? What are the other compression drivers JBLs ALE GOTO? Just wondering very cool in wall bass horn etc.
My English is very weak. I must seek the support of the software switch languages free of Google translater to from Vietnamese language to English. Hopefully you will understand what I want to say. :-) The system frequency active part in I'm using is the Accuphse. 1 Voicing equalizer DG-38, 1 Digital frequency dividing network DF-45 is responsible for 4 lines frequency and 1 Digital frequency dividing network DF-35 is responsible for 2 lines frequency remaining.
The cut of frequency settings of the DF-45 and 35. 1 - Low bass: Under 71Hz - Slop 12db/oct Driver Fostex FW800N 2 - Mid bass: 71Hz to 400Hz - Slop 12db/oct Driver JBL 1500AL 3 - Mid low: 400Hz to 1.600Hz - Slop 12db/oct Driver Westrex T530A 4 - Mid range: 1.600Hz to 5.000Hz - Slop 12db/oct Driver Jim Lansing 375 5 - Mid high: 5.000Hz to 8.000Hz - Slop 12db/oct Driver Jim Lansing 175 6 - Treble: 8.000Hz to 12.000Hz - Slop 12db/oct Driver Fostex T500Mk2 7 - Tweeter: Upper 12.000Hz - Slop 12db/oct Driver Mewon Ribbon TS01 (passtive crossover) The system is not really perfect, but its performance is wonderful. I'm pleased with what is brings to me. Regards.
I am 'blown away' by your system! Can you please describe the construction of your speakers and how you arrived at their design?.....and more importantly.......how they sound in your wonderful listening room compared to other speakers with which we all may have some familiarity?
