Description

I got the bug when I was young from my Dad.  I started off mainly interested in 2-Channel music systems a long time ago.   For the past several years I have found that most of the time I mainly listen to music in the backyard by the pool so over the last few years I've focused on improving the A/V experience for family viewing.   This system is in our main living area.  The house has a very open floor plan.  I started off with the Classic Fours Bi-amped and running through the NHT X2 crossover.  I found the side firing subwoofers in the Classic Fours sent the bass into the other areas of the house.  Adding the SVS sub made a significant improvement.   Happy with everything for now.  I had a very difficult time finding a media console that was suitable to hold everything and got the ok from the wife on aesthetics.   I worked with the owner of Standout Designs and he let me customize every detail that I wanted.

Several similarities indeed!   Yes, my handle is named after my 2001 Trek 5500.  I put many, many miles on that bike.  Sadly it doesn't get ridden as much as I'd like these days.   Over the years I've had several speakers from NHT in and out of the system.  At some point I was running the original Super Zeros with the SW2Pi subwoofer.  I think all together I owned the Super Zero's on three separate occasions.   I  always liked their products, but haven't heard anything they've made since the classic Two, Three and Four.

Wow. Too many similarities not to comment. I have an NHT C3 Center, six NHT Classic 2’s, and an SVS SB-2000 sub (piano gloss black) I’m guessing your username means you ride a Trek 5500. I have been riding a ‘98 Trek 5200 since it was new. Maybe not separated at birth.....

Lovely system Ocl5500. Your experiences finding a suitable media console mirror my own for the past three months. The amount of hours searching for the right dimensions to then be shot down due to aesthetics gives me nightmares. Okay, not nightmares, but close enough. Well done on your system!
