I got the bug when I was young from my Dad. I started off mainly interested in 2-Channel music systems a long time ago. For the past several years I have found that most of the time I mainly listen to music in the backyard by the pool so over the last few years I've focused on improving the A/V experience for family viewing. This system is in our main living area. The house has a very open floor plan. I started off with the Classic Fours Bi-amped and running through the NHT X2 crossover. I found the side firing subwoofers in the Classic Fours sent the bass into the other areas of the house. Adding the SVS sub made a significant improvement. Happy with everything for now. I had a very difficult time finding a media console that was suitable to hold everything and got the ok from the wife on aesthetics. I worked with the owner of Standout Designs and he let me customize every detail that I wanted.
Lovely system Ocl5500. Your experiences finding a suitable media console mirror my own for the past three months. The amount of hours searching for the right dimensions to then be shot down due to aesthetics gives me nightmares. Okay, not nightmares, but close enough. Well done on your system!
