Description

Hello, Uh...this is the first time I have ever posted my system anywhere. I've been coming on this site for a while and it always looked fun but it felt like I was trying to brag or something so I never did until now. I would like to upgrade the speakers soon but I'm broke right now. I still browse in the meantime. I haven't found anything that makes me really want to get rid of the DR7's yet as funny as that may sound. My price range would be below $1500 new or used and I'd like a large bookshelf or small floorstander no more than 37"tall that gets a low freq. range of 30Hz or below that plays all types of music well. Can't seem to find many though. I like all kinds of music but mostly classic rock/soul and jazz. Maybe some of you can help me out with a few suggustions. Take care. -X

Hey! Thanx Groove, I'll check out the Spendor's. I'm glad you listed a specific model...that helps. It seems we both need to sell stuff to get the cash for some new goodies :-)but I like to be prepared ahead of time anyway. Thanx again for taking the time to reply. To Robofet...I just got some NOS russian tubes from Upscale. They are very good quality. Upscale obviously has good testing equipment. Zero microphonics...$$ well spent...Thank you for pointing me towards them. "I"ll be back..." hehehehe - hopefully with recent pictures of my gear and room if I can get my camera to work again.

Hi again! Thanks robo. I have heard that Upscale Audio has a nice selection of tubes from a few other people as well. I think I'll browse their site again...it's been a while since I was on it. If anyone has some advice on sound treatments, how to place them/websites with technical info I'd appreciate a link or 2. I live in an apartment now with a vaulted ceiling and it's really made me kind of aggravated with the sound i'm getting. I'm going to take some new pictures of the entire room and post it soon. Thanks again for the input.

Hahahaha...the milk crate is no more....hehehe this is an older picture. I actually built a smaller rack to match the big one. Audiomax...yes master tapes have been on my mind I will be getting 2 after I sell some things on Agon and ebay. Piglet...I have had NOS tubes in the pre before. The microphonics were a pain when the pre was first turned on (click, click, click) but after the tubes heated up it sounded better than what I have for tubes now. I would like to try some different tubes again in the future...do you have any 6SN7 tube sugguestions? More dynamics, air, and deeper soundstage are always welcome in my system. Thanx to all of you for your sugguestions! I will check back on this post again so please keep the sugguestions coming.
