Critical Mass Systems Center Stage CM2,2M in both the 1.0 & 1.5 size footers. Total of 6 sets being used.
I now have 6 sets under my equipment and boy are they impressive.
Entreq Silver Tellus
Silver Tellus used om my digital. Plus a DIY large box used on analog and two smaller DIY boxes used on each speaker.
EtherRegen Uptone Audio
AfterDark Queen Clock and Linear power supply
Combo
WireWorld Platinum 8 Ethernet
I didn't think an ethernet cable would improve the sound much, but with cable connected to my Ether Regen input from my modem even though I am sending the output via fiber to my Lumin X1, increased the sound quality presence. Quite impressive.
Albertporter, I own the Eggleston Andra 2's not the Focals.
Tbg, the 3/8"-16 is what my speaker uses. I thought it would be better to just have a straight same size threaded stud from speakers through the Stillpoints. That is if the Stillpoints could be threaded to accept the 3/8"-16 thread.
I would have to drill additional hole into the Andras to accept the new 1/4" inserts. That would place them slightly away from the outer edges.
Ozzy, I cannot imagine that a 3/8" 16 would be any better than a 1/4" 20. I do know that four SP Ultra Five under speakers and amps are superior to three.
Albertporter, Thank you so much for the offer. My speakers use a 3/8"-16 thread. If you could tap the Stillpoints to be able to use the 3/8"-16 thread that would be great!
Assume you must get from 14MM to 1/4-20 for the Stillpoints. I have a shop that will drill and tap the Stillpoints for about $100.00 allowing the full size 14MM rod from Focal to be used as intended.
I ordered a set of stainless steel and at the right length from a Company called Evo Industries. They made them up for me and I had them in a few days. The cost was $8 each. I don't know about Stillpoints and I am not impressed with their customer service.
I had no idea the screw adapters are so expensive. When ordering a new set of Stillpoints, can one specify the thread for free, or must one always pay extra to get the right threading? $50 per adaptor and a two month wait seems unreasonable.
Tbg, Thanks for the reply. In my case, Stillpoints wants about a $400 payment for 8 screw adapters in advance and a 2 month wait. The email replies appear quite rude to me. I don't know , for the cost of their product, I expect a little better customer service.
Ozzy, for a long time I had no experience that was bad with either the SPs Ultra SSs or Ultra Fives. Now I have had some instances where the Ultra Fives are too much.
I had great difficulty with installing SP Ultra Fives on my BMC Arcadia speakers. Previously on my Tidals, it was easy to install them as there are multiple threaded M8s holes on them and I got eight 1/4 20 to M8 adapters from StillPoints. On learning that the Arcadias had M8 threads also I simply assumed I could just move them to my new speakers. Before settting them up, I screwed them into the only four holes on the Arcadias. I did notice that the threading was far into the holes. Once I had them up I noticed that the Ultra Fives were flat against the bottom of the speakers. StillPoints doesn't encourage that saying that a small gap is better. I could not get any gape?
Later I learned that the threading on the Arcadias is from inside and that I was merely moving it further into the speakers. Fortunately, my adapters were too short to push them into the interior. I live with that situation now.
Devilboy, Sorry for the late response. The Stillpoints work great on some components and not so great on others. So my opinion is you will have to try them. The company support is pretty bad however, based on my experience in trying to get a proper adapter for my speakers.
Ozzy, how much of an improvement have the Stillpoints been? I was on the fence about purchasing three for under my components, so I went with Mapleshade's system of Isoblocks, maple platform and spikes. Just curious.
System edited: Picture added to show the different spikes I have used. First there was the original spikes with cups, then I moved to the 2" Audio Points and now I am trying the Stillpoints but I cant seem to find the right adapter .
Zephyr24069 , Thanks for the response. With my Egglestons I am also using Townsend super tweeters and a pair of JL Fanthoms F113 subs. With proper set up I now have an excellent soundstage and fantastic frequency extremes.
Yes, I took the cover off and stuck it through the opening in the circuir board tha sits atop the transformer. The transformer has a can cover over it. This weekend I will be also installing the Capacitor chips to the Pass Amp.
Ozzy, How did you install the Transformer chip on your Pass Labs , did you have to open the hood to get it on . Does it have be physically in contact with the tranny ?
Yoby, The SR Powercell 10SE comes with a Precision Reference special made 32A plug so thus far that has been the only cord I have used with the Power Conditioner. Someday I will find an adapter and then I would like to try the HiDiamond 3 on it.
